In this section I will keep records of known bugs found during the SOASC= ROTS 2015 project announced in August 2015.

It should be noted that ROTS records every release based on the "fix" and "new" directories (and parts of the "updateXX.hvs" procedure and therefore dupes will be present across the releases as they come.

The bugs covered vary from out-of-memory on C64 to bad rips or other misfortunes that I came across.

The lists presented here is either done by new automatic and improved error detection on the WAV recording and various triple-checks on SID files within emulator, sidplayers and naturally on a real Commodore 64, but also involves manual work from time to time.

Note that the previous complete and full recordings of HVSC #49 (original and first final release of SOASC=) will not be touched or bugfixed. That collection is frozen for eternity (except for changing MOS6581R2 into MOS6581R3 as mentioned in the post below).

Been searching long and hard for a solution for this problem. As we are aware the normal standard loading routines on a stock C64 cannot handle programs over 202 blocks in size.

These SID songs (converted to PRG with PSID64 and compressed with Exomizer) was all unable to load properly by standard ways on C64 (tried MMC64, and loading from SD2IEC, would suspect the same result if loaded from a real physical 1541 drive too).

Luckily, thanks to some research and deep search/testing I have found two solutions that allow these huge files to be read into memory and executed. One solution works with SD2IEC (Action Replay V3.0 loader, possibly modified by someone, unclear), and the standard Action Replay MK4 loader (does not work with SD2IEC). Both solutions should work fine with physical 1541 Floppy Drive.

SID tunes too large - SOLUTION!

These tunes seems to be playing fine in any software SID player, and even PSID64 PRG version sometimes gets played fine in emulator, but when it comes to real hardware - they choke or simply don't even play a note, except for the SID INIT clip pop with endless silence.

It should be noted that HVSC does an incredible good job of finding these bugs and fix them for the next release, so don't get panic, the bugged song may get recorded in a later release of HVSC when it appears.

The following tunes didn't play any notes, or has messed up / broken playback, weird notes etc.

Most of these bugs are well known and documented already in the "00_Documents/" folder of the CGSC collection. The following tunes are therefore ignored during recording and will not be recorded until it appears as a good version.

Currently only 2SID and 3SID recently found in releases after HVSC #55 and later was ignored and will *NOT* be recorded.

Sure they are cool and all, but they should appear in a HVSC Special Section instead.
